« My Heritage » is an exploration started between lockdowns, in 2021, through a collaboration with the textile artist Clarissa Ready. Working about our creative roots, I excavated some childhood stories, for example, a very special and memorable meeting with an old printmaker, Jean Morette in the East of France. This event shaped my dedication to art, the printing press and more specifically my attachment to pictures and narrations.

Inspired by « Les images d’épinales » and Jean Morette’s patterns, I created first of all a paper toy. The body parts are coated with bee wax, which gives transparency to the paper.

A version is part of a collective book made with my « Somerset Printmaker » group, a book of experimentation and what printmaking can be. Individual parts were created as well, a metaphor for my wholeness.
This work celebrates my roots, my dedication to paper and nature, my taste for exploration, my attachment to pictures and narration.

I declined the project using ceramic.
